Lexus RX 350 SUV Review

The Lexus RX 350 is the latest incarnation of the best selling Lexus RX300. To sum up the changes – more power, more soundproofing, improved handling and better fuel economy. Considering the old RX300 received rave reviews for its refinement, build quality and luxury, the RX350 has a lot to offer anyone seeking a crossover with all the benefits of a luxury sedan, along with the utility of an SUV. The RX 300 quickly became the best-selling vehicle for good reason. The new 3.5L V6 270HP engine offers startling performance for a mid-sized SUV (0-60mph in 7.4 seconds!) and the powertrain is still virtually silent. If you are looking for a luxury 5 seater SUV, with enough space for a young family plus all their luggage, which can transport you over long distances in comfort and is effortless to drive, then the RX 350 is a top candidate in this very competitive luxury crossover market segment. However, the Lexus RX 350 FWD is no workhorse – if you need to regularly tow heavy loads up rutted mountain tracks this vehicle is not ideal, especially this FWD model. The chassis is designed for the road, essentially a car with some utility, what used to be called a (luxury) station wagon.

Best Suv Reviews – Nissan Armada SUV Rating & Review – 2010,2011 | Nissan Armada Price Quotes

Nissan Armada - Get a Free Price Quote

Nissan Armada SUV Review

The Nissan Armada is one of the class leading large SUVs, capable of towing trailers up to 9,100 pounds (best in class), while hauling eight passengers and their luggage in comfort, and traversing rugged terrain or deep snow. Based on the award winning Titan pick-up, the Armada is as big as a Ford Expedition. Seven or eight passengers can be easily accommodated in a roomy and well appointed cabin. The second and third rows of seats both fold completely flat giving the Nissan Armada huge cargo carrying capacity. The Armada boasts the excellent build quality and the reliability we have come to expect from Japanese vehicles, but is actually built at Nissan’s factory in Canton, Mississippi. With a powerful 5.6L, V8 engine as standard coupled with a smooth five-speed automatic transmission pushing out 305 horsepower, the Nissan Armada always feels responsive and able. The EPA figures for fuel economy of 13 mpg city/18 mpg highway are good for a vehicle this size. The independent suspension and rack and pinion steering make the Armada easy to drive, whether cruising on the highway, negotiating rush hour traffic or heading for the hills. Once behind the wheel it is easy to forget just how big this vehicle is!

Best Suv Reviews – GMC Envoy SUV Rating & Review – 2010,2011 | GMC Envoy Price Quotes

GMC Envoy - Get a Free Price Quote

GMC Envoy SUV Review

When shopping for a GMC Envoy the average consumer will find that the performance factor is good and the spacious cabin offers plenty of room. The handling is not as spry as some of the competitors, but the comfortable ride creates a nice passenger experience. There are lots of features that helped to put the GMC Envoy on the map. Bluetooth connectivity and yet the same hard working vehicle that was created by the SUV is still well intact. If you need a working truck with the convenience of passenger seating, this may be the SUV for you.

The GMC Envoy was originally a dressed up version of the Trailblazer. Towing capacity, low range gear systems, and traditional in its power-horse SUV body this particular model has its fans and its critics. The navigation system, entertainment options, and the stability control were all factors in its creation as a family vehicle as well.

The 3 basic models have their own perks and options, including their own engine sizes. SLE and SLT models offer a 4.2 liter engine with 291 horsepower and a good 277 pounds of torque. Upgrading provides aŅ.3 liter engine with traditional V-8 power, 302 horsepower, and 330 pounds of torque. Despite the 4 speed transmission, the power transfer is excellent and the range of speed is still appropriate. Gear changing is delivered with precision.

Two and four wheel drive models provide a range of possibilities for the GMC Envoy. Depending on the model and the engine you can haul anywhere from 5800 pounds to 6600 pounds behind the vehicle. Fuel efficiency is not the best for the Envoy. The two wheel drive models tend to get about Ǯ city miles per gallon and 20 highway miles per gallon.

The GMC Envoy offers load leveling suspension to help create a smoother ride. The heated seats and the power adjustable pedals are just two of the features that make this one of the creative options for SUV enthusiasts. The Bose sound system provides audio controls mounted directly to the steering wheel to allow for the convenient and safe control while driving. Some models offer a roof rack, overhead console, heated side mirrors that offer automated folding, and an autodimming rearview mirror.

There is not a third row seating option, which limits the potential for versatility when it comes to the GMC Envoy. Even so, the 80 cubic feet of cargo space help to make up for the limited seating when you’re using it to haul from one place to another. The 60/40 split of the rear passenger seating provides variable options for cargo and passenger options.

Overall, the GMC Envoy has a lot to offer the consumer who wants the power of strong SUV while providing many of the creature comforts that can make a family trip a better experience. While the handling and performance factors are not as great as some of the competitors, the basic drive and haul function is usually what attracts consumers to this vehicle.

Best Suv Reviews – Ford Explorer 4X4 SUV Rating & Review – 2010,2011 | Ford Explorer 4X4 Price Quotes

Ford Explorer 4X4 - Get a Free Price Quote

Ford Explorer 4X4 SUV Review

Over the last 12 years, the Ford Explorer has been the best selling SUV in America. Not only that, it’s the sixth best-selling vehicle of any type in America! It’s almost become the default choice for anyone who needs suburban family transport. Though extremely capable as a towing vehicle and able to venture off into the wilds, most Explorers spend their lives in an urban environment, used in much the same way station wagons used to be, prior to the SUV boom. As a suburban runabout, the Explorer is roomy and comfortable for up to seven people. The 4.0L V6 engine is adequate – unless you need to tow monster trailers – so you can save on the extra costs of the 4.6L V8. Mated to Ford’s superb five-speed automatic transmission and the Explorer’s wide stance and long wheelbase give it a solid, stable and comfortable ride. The all independent rear suspension gives it better handling than other large SUVs with traditional live rear axle suspension. AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control is now standard on the Explorer range. The Explorer can pull trailers up to 7,140 pounds in the right specification, and although it is not the best off road vehicle, it will pretty much go wherever you point it which is a big part of the secret why the Ford Explorer is so popular – it does everything you ask of it.

Best Suv Reviews – Toyota Sequoia SUV Rating & Review – 2010,2011 | Toyota Sequoia Price Quotes

Toyota Sequoia - Get a Free Price Quote

Toyota Sequoia SUV Review

The Toyota Sequoia is a seriously large SUV. It has a traditional body-on-frame design (from the new Toyota Tundra pickup) for extra strength and durability and features independent suspension all around. With its large 20-inch tires, the Toyota Sequoia looks like it has the off-road capability to tackle any terrain. The interior is huge and luxurious with a generous three-row seating system (2+2+3). Even with third row seats in place, cargo space is generous. The Toyota Sequoia is a striking and luxurious SUV, with beautiful 10-spoke polished aluminium wheels, running boards and tailgate spoiler. With a maximum towing capacity of 9000lbs and independent rear suspension, the Sequoia is one of the best towing vehicles on sale today. The 381 HP 5.7L V8 provides plenty of muscle and the six-speed automatic transmission has manual control. Fuel returns of 13mpg in the city and 18mpg on the highway are excellent for a vehicle this size. The direct competitors to the Sequoia are the Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon, and Ford Expedition. However, none of these vehicles can match the Toyota build quality and reliability which has been well proven over many years.

Best Suv Reviews – Lincoln MKX SUV Rating & Review – 2010,2011 | Lincoln MKX Price Quotes

Lincoln MKX - Get a Free Price Quote

Lincoln MKX SUV Review

The Lincoln MKX FWD is based on a shared platform with the Ford Edge crossover SUV (which itself is based on a modified Mazda 6 platform), and bar a few cosmetic tweaks (such as the much talked about “egg-crate” grille), the Lincoln MKX FWD and the Ford Edge crossover SUV are the same vehicle under the skin. This is the main problem for the MKX, as the Ford Edge is considerably cheaper. Customers that choose the MKX over the Ford will essentially be paying $5000 extra for the Lincoln badge. According to Lincoln, the benchmark for this vehicle was the Lexus RX350, the best selling vehicle in the class. In some ways it beats the RX with more passenger space for instance (the MKX is longer and wider than the RX), however, the penalty for this extra space is 500lbs of extra weight. In terms of refinement, Lincoln boasts that the MKX is even quieter than the Lexus and road tests seem to confirm this. The MKX is a very refined cruiser, which, like the Lexus is designed to offer a smooth and comfortable ride. One area where the MKX cannot match the Lexus is in terms of perceived quality, the cabin could never be described as down market or cheap, however it simply is not in the same league as the Lexus. In summary the MKX is larger (and slower) than the Lexus, with similar economy and refinement, with a less inviting interior and lower perceived build quality. The MKX currently undercuts the Lexus by just $3000, for many this will not be enough to entice them away from the class leader with 10 years of superb reliability and customer satisfaction ratings.

Best Suv Reviews – Infiniti FX 35 SUV Rating & Review – 2010,2011 | Infiniti FX 35 Price Quotes

Infiniti FX 35 - Get a Free Price Quote

Infiniti FX 35 SUV Review

The Infiniti FX is one of the new breed of crossover utility vehicles designed for consumers who want the best of both worlds, the responsive handling of a sedan, and the flexibility and utility of an SUV. The Infiniti FX35 comes closer than most to achieving those goals. It is a fast, responsive vehicle, but is capable of hauling five people plus their luggage for a camping/skiing/adventure trip. The sharp handling can probably be attributed to the fact that Infiniti FX35 is built on the same rear-drive platform as the Nissan 350Z sports car. The FX offers an SUV-size package that is exciting to drive and is capable and confident in wet and snowy road conditions. Because of the compact platform and sporty drive, the cabin is not as large as other SUVs and more cosseting in feel. In addition the ride is firmer than most SUVs but far from uncomfortable. The Infiniti range of vehicles are renowned for coming fully loaded as standard, and the Infiniti FX does not disappoint, with a 300-watt Bose stereo, color rear-view monitor, advanced airbag system and pretty much everything else you can think of – options are not required.

The front is completely new in a sense only the “tip of the iceberg” of this update, which also covered the interior. Unchanged the two alternatives of step and strength (back and 4MATIC), the engine range was rather concerned by an important innovation.Mercedes Classe R restyling
